Major natural resources include rivers, canals, reservoirs, lakes, and waterlogged areas covering approximately 3 million hectares (7.5 million acres). In addition to the sustainable use of natural resources, private sector fish farming activities have increased significantly over the past two decades. Currently, fish farming is being carried out on approximately 61,000 acres and more than 65% of fish is coming from private fish farms.
